TEEN/ADULT CLASS LEVELS
Beginning, Continuing, Continuing/Intermediate, Intermediate, Intermediate/Advanced, and Advanced are specific graduated dance levels determined by experience and ability. Advanced classes are limited to students who meet the class requirements and maintain consistency in attendance.
Grades specified are school grades entered September 2017. Tots & Preschoolers must be age specified by 9/01/17- COPY OF BIRTH CERTIFICATE REQUIRED. CHILDREN'S CLASS LEVELS: Levels I, IIA, IIB, IIC, III, IV and V are specific graduated dance levels determined by experience and ability.
Instructors reserve the right to place all students in their proper class level and to move student to a lower level or removal from class due to excessive absences. INSTRUCTORS NOTED IN SCHEDULE ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT NOTICE.
Registration fees and Costume fees not refundable.
A full refund (minus reg. fee) IF drop occurs prior to the beginning of a session (9/5/17; 11/06/17; 01/29/18; 04/09/18). 50% refund of tuition only if drop occurs on or before (Session I) Saturday 9/09/17; (Session II) on or before Sat. 11/11/17; (Session III) on or before Saturday 02/03/18; (Session IV) on or before Saturday 4/14/18. No refunds after 1st week of each session.
DRESS ATTIRE REQUIREMENTS
► Jeans, street clothes or outer clothing NOT ALLOWED IN ANY CLASS. Proper dance shoes MUST be worn on dance floors (dancing in stocking feet is strictly prohibited). Leave all jewelry at home; wearing any jewelry is not acceptable. Gum, food, and/or drinks ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THE STUDIOS.
►EVERY FEMALE STUDENT, 1ST GRADE AND OLDER, MUST own & wear a BLACK LEOTARD (Tank or camisole) as part of their dress attire FOR all classes EXCEPT ballet (which requires certain colored leotards). Students may be REQUIRED to buy other leotards for costume(s).
►TWINKLE STARS – (Twinkle Babies, Pre (ages 2 & 3), Twinkle ages 4 and 5 (and Kindergarten) Pink Twinkle Star Ensemble = twinkle leotard, Sparkle The Bear with stitched skirt (order thru studio), light pink tights; pink ballet shoes (and black patent leather tap shoes for combo class); hair must always be pinned back and up.
► Mommy & Me – clothing that allows movement-like leggings, & tennis shoes or “walkers.”)
►TOP HATS & TAILS (boys only) = Boys wear black jazz pants and white t-shirts; black ballet shoes/black patent leather tap shoes, & purchase at studio – Ted Tuxedo bear.
►KINDER – JAZZ/TAP = Black Leo, Jazz Pants, Jazz shoes & Black Patent leather tap shoes
►MINI JAZZ - Black Leotard and Black Jazz Pants, or black Capri, and Black Jazz Shoes
► BALLET CLASSES REQUIRE SPECIFIC LEOTARD COLOR:
*Ballet I thru Ballet IIB = Light Blue Leo (Copen color - purchased thru studio), tank type, pink tights, full sole pink ballet shoes.
*Ballet IIC/III thru Ballet IV = Dark Teal (thru studio), tank or camisole, pink tights, pink ballet shoes (either split sole or full sole – canvas or leather). *Beginning Ballet (teen/adult) thru Continuing B Ballet = Burgundy Leo (purchased thru studio), tank or camisole, pink tights, pink ballet shoes (either split sole or full sole – canvas or leather).
*Continuing/Intermediate thru Intermediate/Advanced Ballet = Navy Blue (purchased thru studio), tank or camisole, pink tights, pink ballet shoes (either split sole or full sole – canvas or leather).
*Pointe Classes (dancer to wear designated Ballet Class Leotard).
*All ballet classes = hair must always be pinned back and up.
*Cecchetti classes – refer to Ms. Jackie requirements.
*TIGHTS for Ballet = Footless Tights Are Not Allowed For Any Ballet Class; Only Footed Or Convertible To Be Used
*Boys/Men wear black sweats or jazz pants, or black spandex shorts, white t-shirts and black ballet shoes.
► JAZZ & LYRICAL: Black Leotard and Black Jazz Pants, or black Capri, and Black Jazz Shoes ~ NO JAZZ SNEAKERS ~ hair must always be pinned back or in ponytail. Dance shorts (black – no band color) with tights are acceptable. Note: Continuing Jazz Level and above may be required to purchase TAN Jazz shoes for performance and/or ½ ballet shoe, REFER TO INSTRUCTOR.
►JR HIP HOP: Jr. HipHop I & II ~ grades 2nd – 4th = Black Leotard, BLACK jazz pants, black Capri OR black cargo pants BLACK jazz shoes (pull on or tie); hair must always be pinned back or in ponytail. BOYS – black jazz pants, white t-shirt, black jazz shoes
►HIP HOP (5th Grade & Older): = Black leotard BLACK jazz pants, Capri OR black cargo pants & BLACK jazz-dance sneakers - may be purchased through the studio office or at dance wear stores, or on-line); hair must always be pinned back or in ponytail. (Jazz & Cargo pants available for purchase at Studio Office.) BOYS - BLACK jazz pants, White T-shirt, & BLACK jazz-dance sneakers
► TAP: Unless coming from a ballet class, BLACK leotard and BLACK jazz pants; black tap shoes (Patent leather tap shoes for Twinkle Stars through 4th grade; Black Oxford Leather jazz tap split sole for 4th & 5th grade Black; Black Oxford full sole, hard shell Tap shoe for 6th grade and older). Dance shorts (spandex type only & black only – no color bands - allowed with tights. No high-heeled tap shoes; hair must always be pinned back or in ponytail. Men/Boys wear black jazz pants and white t-shirts; black tap oxfords.
► MODERN: BLACK leotards, footless Capri suntan tights (and BLACK spandex dance shorts at student discretion) ~ No shoes; hair must always be in bun.
► POMDANCE: Jazz attire (BLACK jazz pants & BLACK leotard), and BLACK jazz shoes (pull on); hair must always be pinned back or in ponytail.
FAILURE TO DRESS PROPERLY FOR CLASS COULD AFFECT YOUR ABILITY TO PARTICIPATE OR YOU MAY BE SENT HOME
*2017-2018 NEW POLICY TUITION PAYMENTS*
All families must keep a current credit card on file and agree to be automatically billed prior to the beginning of each session. Tuition will be automatically charged to that credit card in advance of each Session. Your permission will be given to Jo’s Footwork at the time of on-line registration or in person for such billing. Session I will be paid at the time of registration (on line or in person). No convenience credit card fee will be charged for any tuition billing/recurring billing. Billing will occur as follows during the 2017-2018 year:
Session I – at the time of official registration – may be paid in person with check, cash, or credit card but the credit card needs to be on-file for future payments of Tuition and costume fees.
Session II - Monday, November 6, 2017 through January 28, 2018 *Automatic/Recurring billing date Thursday, 11/02/17.
*Costume Fee(s) to be charged December 1 – further information to come.
Session III - January 29, 2018 through Sunday, April 8 2017
*Automatic/Recurring billing date Thursday, 01/25/18
*Session IV - Monday, April 9, 2018 through Monday, June 11, 2018
*Automatic/Recurring billing date Thursday, 04/05/18
2017-2018 CHANGE OF CLASS OR NOT CONTINUING CLASS POLICY:
In order to avoid incorrect payment/charges, if your student is not continuing with a class at the end of a session, or there will be a change of class, you must email the Studio Office TEN DAYS prior to the end of class at JOSFOOTWORK@GMAIL.COM alerting the studio. Failure to advise the studio in writing, and the subsequent charging, there will be a $25 administration fee charged. ●There are no refunds, credits or transfers of any fees. Returned checks have a $30 fee.
